Every person has a story.
Every story shapes our city.
SonderSLC is an open-air portrait exhibit celebrating the unseen lives that shape our city. Through photography, interviews, and immersive storytelling, we invite you to experience Salt Lake through new eyes — one person, one story at a time.
Be Part of the Story
We’re looking for the people who keep Salt Lake City clean, running, and moving every day. The workers behind the scenes and in plain sight — the ones whose efforts shape our city in ways we often overlook.
We’re seeking Salt Lake workers like custodial staff, maintenance crews, drivers, baristas, city workers, service industry staff, and more.
If selected, you’ll spend about 30 minutes with photographer Kelli Freshman in April/May 2026 for:
A short interview about your work and experience
A portrait session in your real environment or nearby
No modeling experience needed — just a willingness to show up as yourself.
As a thank you for participating, you’ll receive your final portraits after the project is complete.
